This is going to sound ridiculous, but it’s the honest truth, January 1, 2022 was the first day I acknowledged that I was, and am, a creative being.
What?!???? Yup. The picture above is something I drew in the Spark File New Year Creativity Kick Off workshop while unearthing stories I had told myself like, “I’m not creative because I only interpret other people’s visions” and “Do I even HAVE any ideas?” Wow. This exercise was to help us diffuse those stories we tell ourselves that block our creativity.
Life is an act of creativity. How we walk through the world, love people, make a budget, solve problems, mend communication missteps, nurture relationships, cook a meal….it’s all creative.
Shifting our mindset to one of curiosity at each step can help remind us that even daily, perceived as mundane tasks, can be an act of creativity if we’re intentionally curious about it all!
With that, I’m curious about making a new budget and how to creatively stay in it! (Apparently I needed a dose of accountability from all of you too! 😂)
